This
laboratory has been undertaking studies with special focus
on diagnosis of leprosy aiming at improving the histo-diagnosis
of leprosy and mycobacterial infections.
This
laboratory is currently headed by Dr.Mohan Natarajan,
Deputy Director on a part time basis. It has equipment
like imager for morphometric analysis.
Dr.Mohan
Natarajan is currently engaged in studies pertaining to the
development of direct in-situ hybridization, immunohistochemistry
and in-situ PCR methods for improving the histodiagnosis of
early leprosy. He is a postgraduate in Dermatology from Hyderabad
and has submitted his Ph.D. thesis to Agra University on this
subject. He has years of experience of working in leprosy
especially in the area of molecular histopathology and has
contributed--- papers. He is a recipient of Dr.S.C.Mohanty
award of IADVL. |
